Regional Academic Authority, English Expertise, Aurangabad is the apex state government institute for training teachers and teacher educators of English in the state of Maharashtra. The institute was named as State Institute of English for Maharashtra (SIEM) since its inception. The institute was established in 1965. It was situated in Mumbai when it was established and later shifted to Aurangabad in 1985.

SIEM has been involved in imparting short-term and long-term courses for teachers of English at primary and secondary school level. The District Centre Scheme (DSC) of SIEM was implemented in some districts in Maharashtra with the aid from English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad (EFLU), the erstwhile Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL), supported by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
In 2017, the regional institutes were restructured, and SIE was renamed as Regional Academic Authority, English Expertise and works under Maharashtra Academic Authority, Pune, erstwhile Maharashtra State Council for Educational Research and Training (MSCERT) (MSCERT was established as State Institute of Education in 1964-65. It secured constitutional status like NCERT and was renamed as MSCERT in 1984)- the apex institute of educational research and training in Maharashtra

The RAA is headed by Director (an officer of academic establishment not less than rank of Class One Senior Lecturer of DIET or DIET Principal). RAA runs various projects for universalisation of education and quality teacher education for English Language Teaching. The roles and functions are primarily concerned with ensuring quality in respect of planning, management, research, evaluation and training. Dr Subhash Kamble is the present director of RAA,EE, Aurangabad.
